There is an overload of information, challenges, supplements, and programs available online. This often just makes things difficult to navigate and compare. At Rocked Nutrition, we are all about real life nutrition. Nutrition that you can take on the road, through busy days, at the table with family/friends and, yes, out to eat. This doesn’t happen overnight and we focus on simple steps to get there before we start counting every calorie or macronutrient, as we’ve found that most people are not quite ready for that level of detail and work when it comes to daily nutrition (at least not in the beginning). We create the plan around foods that you already eat and build off of those rather than give you a meal plan with foods that you dislike. Nutritional balance is all about trade-offs and our nutrition coaches are here to work through them with you while your reach your goals.
Here’s our take on getting started on your nutrition journey in a sustainable way:
- Book a Free Nutrition Chat to talk to a nutrition coach about what you’re trying to achieve, why you feel these goals are important, what has worked in the past and what hasn’t. This is a chance to learn about the programs and methods we use and see if they are a good fit for you and your life. If we can’t help you, we are happy to recommend someone that we think might be able to! For example, we are not marathon runners and won’t pretend that we have the experience to fuel you properly as you train for this long distance endeavor.
- Give it a go on your own. Book an InBody Scan to see your body composition starting point and start weighing your fruits and vegetables. Your goal will be to hit 800g of Fruits/Vegetables per day for 27 days of the month. The easiest way to do this is by printing off a calendar and making a checkmark every day you hit the goal. No fancy tracking or apps. Just a kitchen scale and a post-it note or whiteboard. When you have this completed, book a meeting for your next steps!
- Join our Rocked Nutrition group coaching program(s). You’ve tried on your own and you’re ready for more support and accountability or you already know you don’t want to go at this alone. Our Master the Basics L1 is a 4-week program completed virtually that allows you to build sustainable habits around adding fruits, vegetables, and protein to your daily intake. - Rinse and repeat. Many people complete the MTB L1 program multiple times as a check-in or a re-focus on their nutrition habits.
- Ready for more? 2-3 times per year we offer The Lazy Macros Challenge created by EC Synkowski. While our L1 program prepares you for this 4-week program, the entirety of this 4-weeks is spent hitting 800g of Fruits/Veggies and your personal protein goal daily. There are also fun bonus points and educational videos along the way. When implemented consistently for a long period, these two pillars of nutrition are often enough to get clients to their goals.
- Working with a Coach 1-on-1. Personalized Coaching can be very helpful and productive when a client wants more detail or needs more support on their journey towards their goals. Strategizing specific events, meals, setbacks can ease clients’ stress around meeting nutrition goals. Celebrating the wins with your coach can be instrumental in sticking with it – often they can see the big picture a little clearer than you can! Lastly, the InBody Scanner is also used monthly to provide body composition data to support the changes or consistency in the plan.
